24 Nov Best Instagrammable Places in Galway, Ireland
Winding lanes lined with colorful shopfronts, and the Atlantic and Cliffs of Moher right around the corner, make Galway one of Ireland’s most picturesque cities. Not only did the vibrant and chilled out vibe of the city surprise me, but also the amount of places that inspired me to pull out my camera. I love finding spots that show the essence of a city well and, which may sound superficial, make a good photo for Instagram. So here are my picks of the best Instagrammable places in Galway.
Cross Street is, in my opinion, one of the cutest streets in Galway. Think pretty storefronts ( The Pie Maker and Yes Flowers <3 ), string flags, greenery and flowers.
Salthill Promenade & The Long Walk
A walk along the Salthill Promenade rewards you with incredible views of the Galway Bay and the Atlantic whether it’s rainy or sunny. The Long Walk offers a whole lane of, quite possibly, the most quaint colorful houses you’ll ever see. Definitely worth a snap.
Latin Quarter – Quay Street | Shop Street | Kirwan’s Lane
Shop street and Quay street are packed with colorful shops, pubs and street performers. Kirwan’s Lane is one of Galway’s last remaining late medieval lanes. These streets are perfect for capturing the vibrant and chilled out vibe of Galway.
Ard Bia at Nimmos
The building is fascinating and the decor is rustic and warm. Imagine tall candles, wooden furniture, mismatched plates and cute teacups. The food is also presented with equal attention to detail. Plus it’s really delicious. Guaranteed you’ll whip out your phone to capture the dishes’ and interior’s beauty. But don’t take too long as you don’t want your delicious meal to get cold.
Address: Spanish Arch, Long Walk, Galway
The Jungle Cafe
Having coffee in the middle of a jungle in Ireland? Is that even possible? This outdoor cafe is a tropical oasis in Galway and makes for a cool Instagram shot.
Address: 29 Forster St, Galway
Cliffs of Moher
Ok, I must admit that this is not in Galway City, but how can I not mention one of the most Instagram worthy places of Ireland in this blog post? At the Cliffs of Moher you have unlimited photo opportunities, if you’re there on a clear day.
